On Stage 2025

Below is some pertient information for camper and parents attended the 2025 Summer Scholars On Stage camp.

We are thrilled about your participation in the 2025 On Stage Camp and look forward to working with you! We have an exciting schedule planned, full of music, dance, and drama classes, fun bonding activities, a talent showcase, and a camp dance. We’re confident this will be a memorable and rewarding experience for you and our staff.
Please review the general information and camp policies carefully. Both students and parents will be required to sign a form confirming they have read and understood the camp policies.

The schedule includes details about the Talent Showcase and the camp dance—Bootyquake!

Reminders

  • Writers Camp Check-in will be located at Cresswell Hall on Sunday, June 8th from 2-4 pm. 
  • Production Camp Check-in will be located at Cresswell Hall on Saturday, June 14th from 2-4 pm.
  • Camp orientation for campers and parents will follow at 4 pm during both check ins. If you have a conflict with these check in times please let me know as soon as possible and we can work with you. 
  • What should I bring? Read through the General Information and Student Policies document.

Special Guests

We’re excited to announce three special guest speakers for the 2025 camp!

We are proud to welcome Shane McRae, a former Summer Scholars On Stage camper and Starkville High School graduate, as a virtual speaker. Shane has built a successful career on both stage and screen, with appearances on Broadway and in numerous television roles. He currently stars in the Apple TV series Silo and has been featured in shows such as Sneaky Pete.

Tonya Hays, Director of Theatre at MSU, will lead a workshop on improvisation. Hays brings a wealth of experience from her work in various locations and leadership roles in both state and national theatre organizations. Hays received her B.A from Oklahoma Baptist University and her MFA in Texas Christian University. At MSU, Hays teaches acting, playwriting, directing, theatre for young audiences and theatre for change. 

Greg Thorn, Theatre MSU Lighting Designer, will conduct tours of McComas Hall and talk with the Tech Track Students. Greg received his Master of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts, University of Idaho, 2022 and his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Theatre, Davidson College, 2015.
